Ischia filmfest showing Iran’s ‘Exchange’

The Ischia Film Festival in Italy is screening Iranian ‘Exchange’.

The Ischia Film Festival in Italy has been screening Iranian short flick ‘Exchange’.

Directed by Barzan Rostami, the short flick is competing at the 20th edition of the Italian event.

‘Exchange’ is about people’s irresponsibility in critical situations that force them to do anything unusual to save their lives.

It has also gone on screen at some global events, including the Riverside International Film Festival in the US.

Earlier reports said Iranian films 'Son of Man’ by Sepideh Mirhosseini, ‘Burial’ by Mohammad Tanabandeh, ‘Before Heaven’ by Ahmad Heidarian, ‘Aparat’ by Hassan Najmabadi, The Savior’ by Soheila Pourmohammadi, and ‘Don’t Tell Anyone’ by Sahar Sotoudeh are participating in the event as well.

The Ischia Film Festival is “an international cinematographic festival dedicated to film works and features, regardless of the language: fiction, documentary, animation”, according to an online submission platform.

The festival aims at “protecting the heritage and unique characteristics of the locations represented on screen, thus the competition is especially addressed to those works that highlight, through the cinematic narration, the landscape and cultural identity of the territories in which the films are shot.”

The 20th edition of the event kicked off on June 25 and will last until July 6.
